How to "Create your own counter strike server" | Counter-Strike Dedicated Server

A server is usually not necessary for normal/individual players but later when he/she gets a clan then it becomes quite necessary for him/her to get a server. This is because of clan matches or practice etc...

In this post I will guide you about "How to create/setup your own counter strike server at internet"

It maybe complicated for you if you don't have any knowledge about port forwarding so all you have to do first is Forward your ports.

Follow the steps below to "Create a counter strike server"

1: Go to your counter-strike folder, there you will find a red icon like this - named as "hlds"

2: Open it and you will see something like this:


3: If you want to create a server which is visible to all then you have to select your network as "Internet" and UDP Port 27015 is the number of the port, which you have to forward...

4: Rcon password will help you to control the server while you are in game or you are at any other place..

5: Now just start the server...

6: Go to www.whatismyip.com, See your wan ip there, Copy it and add :27015 with it..e.g if your ip is 123.345.678.981 so you have to add :27015 with it and make it like 123.345.678.981:27015...
Note: You have to give that ip to your friends, in order to play with them and you yourself have to connect with your lan ip...

Congrats, You have successfully created your own counter strike server...

7: That's it, If your friends can't join the server then there maybe 2 reasons:

A: Your ports are not forwarded
B: Your server.cfg is not configured, Refer to this post to solve this problem
